Dr Ailin Teo graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (with Honours) in 2003. Dentistry attracted her attention because it allows her to relieve pain, create beautiful, healthy smiles and prevent dental disease.
Since 2003, Dr Teo has been practising dentistry in beautiful Geelong. It’s a place she has grown to love since moving here in 1993.
As a young dentist, Dr Teo was mentored by the well-known and much-loved Geelong dentist, Dr Dennis Knowles. She credits him with setting her on a pathway of clinical excellence.
In 2008 she opened Ailin Teo Dental Surgery. A wonderful team of talented and devoted clinical and reception staff support her at the practice. Together they provide dental care to the Geelong community, in a comfortable, caring, and loving environment.
Meet Dr Teo
When you meet Dr Teo, you will discover that she is warm, friendly and gentle. This demeanour sits perfectly alongside a great and deep passion for her profession.
In her own words…
“I am very privileged to be able to help people care for their mouths and this privilege is held with gratitude and care.
It’s my desire to provide the best possible care for my patients. I enjoy relieving dental pain, fixing broken teeth, managing gum disease and providing a great variety of other dental services. It’s important to me that my patients enjoy the best possible dental and general health. I really love creating beautiful teeth and helping people to love their smile.
I love getting things as perfect as possible; the fine detail work under magnification. I also enjoy interacting with my patients, building a rapport with them, getting to know them over time. I’ve seen children growing up, people getting married, people bringing their first child in and then their second child in… It is lovely to be able to stay in touch with the community. That’s what I love about practising dentistry in Geelong.
Very importantly, we care deeply for our patients. We do everything we can to provide a comfortable and welcoming setting that makes them feel at ease (and for many, at more peace). This is a place that people can come to and know they will be cared for.”
Loving Life In Geelong
Dr Teo first moved to Geelong in 1993, where she completed high school. The Geelong lifestyle appeals to Dr Teo for many reasons. Those who live here already know that Geelong has the perfect mix of healthy outdoor activities and a sophisticated urban lifestyle. You’re likely to see Dr Teo running on local jogging tracks, working out at the gym, refining her strokes and enjoying the company of others on the golf course or sharing conversation and laughter with friends and family in our local coffee shops.
The short distance to Melbourne ensures that Dr Teo can attend professional dental meetings, conferences and workshops with minimal disruption to her practice hours.
A Strong Commitment To Continuing Education
Dr Teo regularly attends continuing education courses, to provide herself with up-to-date knowledge about all aspects of dentistry such as those relating to dental ceramics, crowns and bridges, endodontics (root canal therapy), and complex treatment procedures. She is quick to adopt the latest clinical techniques, which come strongly supported by clinical and scientific literature.
When not physically attending professional education courses, Dr Teo dedicates many hours every month studying dental journals and scientific literature to stay up-to-date with advances in dentistry.
Her philosophy is simple: Dr. Teo only uses new dental techniques and materials which have been rigorously tested and proven to be effective. This is “evidence-based practice”. It underpins everything Dr Teo does at Ailin Teo Dental Surgery.
“I aim to provide the best, most up-to-date, scientifically and clinically proven care for my patients, and importantly, in a comfortable, calming, welcoming environment.”
Dr Teo is active within the dental profession. She was the Secretary of the Geelong Branch of the Australian Dental Association (2009-2010).

Comprehensive Dentistry for All Ages
Dental health has a strong influence on a person’s general health and well-being. We keep our patients well-informed about
- their dental health
- its effect on their general health, and
- what treatment options are available to them.
Dr. Teo likes to spend time with new and current patients. She feels that it’s important for them to know:
- what state their teeth and gums are in
- what’s happened in the past
- what she and her team can do to help them manage the existing issues, and prevent the same diseases from happening in the future.
